iPhone cable hack
So with the combined power of “the smartz” and the desire to spend less money I just saved $8 in a matter of 60 seconds (without switching to Geico).
Anyone with an iPhone knows you can’t use a regular stereo plug in it because of the recessed jack. They sell a $10 adapter but to be frank that’s lame. 🙂 So I went by Radio Shack and picked up a cheap standard 1/8″ stereo plug to 2 RCA plug adapter for $2. I took an X-acto knife and cut away about an 1/8″ of the plastic shielding around the front of the plug and it fits perfectly. Nothing is exposed after the cut away. I am now listening to music on my iPhone over my home theater system as I post this!
